The site is being revamped! Everything will change on October 22nd, 2007! Do not worry, this whole election site will still be accessible! I will be making a new podcast focusing on Calgary's issues over the next 3 years. All the best!

Welcome!
Welcome to Jeremy Zhao's mayoral campaign site! Unlike the other sites you may encouter when trying to determine who is the best candidate, this site was completely free, excluding the fourteen dollar domain fee! Please explore and seriously consider reading what I have to say. I have made it short and sweet, none of the vague gibberish that other sites have decided to include. May I also suggest you email me and tell me what you want on my platform. Indeed a strong leader needs to be assertive and decisive, but they need the backing of the people. So send in your suggestions and I will personally reply to them.
These are my main priorities:
- Affordable Housing
- Taxation
- Environment
- Transit
- Homelessness
- Infrastructure Maintanence
- Voter Apathy
Updates
Thank you Calgarians for supporting me. I leave you with a thank you letter I have written. I wish everyone all the best!
Highlights of Jeremy Zhao being the best at the debate:
- Opening Remarks
- Jeremy Zhao helps Alnoor by telling people to look at his policies, not personal background
- Audience thanks Jeremy Zhao
- Environment - Find the blooper!
- Rapid Transit
- Closing Remarks
The front page is not always updated, but the blog is always updated. Jeremy Zhao is in 3rd place with a recent poll from the Calgary Herald. My schedule has also been updated, so I do hope to see people who are interested in following me around!
I have uploaded my schedule for the next 2 weeks. If you would like to attend, please find out more information from the third parties or email me back. Have a wonderful weekend! Jeremy Zhao's Schedule.
The site has been massively updated to reflect the current events that are going on. Continue to look for more updates on this site and my platform tomorrow. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
I have heard the voices of Calgarians, those against me and for me, and I will be editing a lot of information about my platform within the next 2 days. I do feel that the platform is not a static entity and it should change according to what I learn and what I am hearing from other Calgarians as the election progresses. I have asked and stated that people send me emails about their ideas and what I should change on my platform long before nomination day. This has dated back to July 2007, but only recently have people been sending me their thoughts and ideas. I do acknowledge that I still have a very long way to go before I understand how many things work, but my team and I are working as hard as we can to fix and overcome these barriers. I know some of you expect me to be a robot, but please understand that I am a human with emotions. I do have school and work and homework and family and friends to attend to at this time. I encourage you to send your thoughts whether you are for or against however. Thank you very much Calgarians!
It's the weekend before nominations so here's what is happening on September 17th, 2007. I'm still looking for signatures even up until Sunday night. My friends will be there from 9 to 12 trying to steal the media spotlight, and we'll be doing something special. Watch for it! I end off this website (whether I get in or not) with this awesome piece of 5 minute creation. I will see you on Monday!
It's September! I am calling out to every individual out there to please help me sign my nomination form! You will have to be eligible to vote in order to make my dream come true in order to sign it! Getting in is probably the most crucial step for me at this point! Please give me a ring or electronic pulse at crazy.jz@gmail.com. Thank you guys so much!
I have made an unprecedented and unmatched move to list all candidates running for alderman and mayor on my website. It is located in the "Vote" section under "Candidates". I am for democracy, not for winning. I urge all Calgarians to choose carefully who they will pick and who really stands up for the people, and those who stand up for themselves. Be informed and stay critical!
The website will be getting a bit of an upgrade this week in an effort to better inform voters about myself and the upcoming election. All pages will be getting new information added, and I will be adding a new "links" section. This section will provide convenient links to all important sites that concern Calgary's issues and facilities, such as the main City of Calgary website for example. As well, the "vote" section will provide information on all candidates running in this election. Being informed and voting is the most important thing to me, more so than winning. As far as I'm concerned, this site is probably the most useful of all campaign sites by far.
My podcast is up! Check under "Media" for more information about my podcast, or scroll down to the end of this page for podcast updates. Feel free to send me emails so I can comment on them during my podcast.
I am going to be starting a podcast by the end of tomorrow. Watch for it...err... listen for it.
I've got great news on my stance on taxation! I am against any increases and I am for lowering business tax rates! Read my solutions by accessing the "issues" page.
The front page should be less cramped now. I have moved some news to the archives page.
1. (For fun, because we need some humor). The first 2 words will be "Your momma".
1. (For real). Given my age, I do not need the extravagant $166,000 income. I will be taking $20,000 of my own salary and turning that into scholarships. I've met many people who do fund their own tuition, and since I am in a position where I can given out money, this is my first task.
2. The number one issue when it comes to politics is taxes. It is the reality that politics revolves around the issue of money. Whether or not fellow aldermen will agree with me, I will stop residential property tax increases, putting a 2-3 year freeze on current 2007 levels. A decrease in business taxes will encourage more shops and more things to do in this very boring city of ours.
3. The mayor gets to use a free car, with free gas and a free downtown parking. I will take the number 3 down instead to get to work.
I will not be any different when I'm mayor. I am going to stick to who I am, and that's going to be a guy who buys five dollar shirts and will take transit to work everyday. I will probably not being using much of that $166,000 and most of it will go towards my family and relatives. That's Jeremy Zhao.
Poll
Please vote in the below poll. If you feel that your issue is not being addressed, please feel free to email me and tell me what you think should be on this poll, this site, or even my own platform!
