Enjoy your stay and have some electronic coffee

Welcome to the new site for Jeremy Zhao, mayoral candidate for the 2007 Calgary municipal election. I'm hosting my own podcast, "the jz show", which takes a serious and satirical look at Calgary's municipal issues. 33% may be an improvement from last election's dismal 19% voter turnout, but I am determined to get even more people on board for Calgary. My focus for the next 3 years will be Calgary's civic issues.

Do you really think you're going to achieve much JZ? Absolutely! With the mini star-power I have now, I will be sitting at home researching on the latest current events, as well as going around the city doing interview with various people.

I am also a comedian at heart, so I will be conducting rather random conversations at times with the people I meet. Perhaps I will even debate myself. I'm very much influenced by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert and I hope to bring some of that to Calgarians. Will I be in danger of offending some of my listeners? Probably, so you better put on your earmuffs.

The JZ Podcast #4 ¡V

This week, Jeremy Zhao discusses the developments of City Council's decision to spend $671 million on recreation and transportation. Jeremy also announced his intentions to run again in 2010, and decides to kick start that off with a debate between him self to see if Jeremy should run again. The final part concludes with Jeremy's discussion Ric McIver and City Council's decision not to allow public input in the $2.2 billion budget adjustment and the 4.5% property tax hike. Ric's ticked!

Note the random YTMND clips in the middle and the favorite Club Soda theme song.

You can expect to see me running again in the 2010 elections, except I've got a few surprises along the way. I don't expect as many votes in the next election and as big of a campaign, but I do want to run once more to get the word out. After 2010, I will probably not be running again. I will continue my podcast and start on my 2010 website. For now, thank you for those who have supported my bid in 2010.

New podcast up! Numero 3!

Jeremy talks about the hippos, club soda, Wikipedia, street signs, banning booze in limos, and a whole ton of stuff. Apparently Emily Wyatt likes hairy dudes due to her statement about students not caring about random raises for Harvey Weingarten. As well, a neat criticism about the Gauntlet and Students' Union. Since both organizations do not care much for the beloved JZ, both are also ineffectively in giving students anything to look forward to.

New in this week's podcast are random songs from Lazytown and the new Club Soda theme song (twice) to the music of the Transformers TV theme. Worth listening!

New podcast up!

October 30th, 2007-

Jeremy Zhao talks about the headlines from the following week in his new segment, "Opinions of the Week". He takes on a satirical approach to topics such as the new Calgary Zoo CEO and a letter about Dale Hodges.

In this week's podcast, Jeremy Zhao has a very frank and random discussion about snow, affordable housing, and Alnoor Kassam with his friends and "political pundits" Kristopher Rupert and Chen Li. It's 15 minutes of either killing brain cells or at times, informative talk.

Sorry to keep you waiting, but I will be uploading the second show tomorrow evening due to a midterm and a hilarious recording I did with my friends. Be sure to watch for the awesomeness of the JZ Show tomorrow.

It's our first day up and I hope to get things moving as soon as possible. This site will be under construction for 3 or 4 months before I have time to finish everything off. Most of the links on the right probably do not work due to JZ stressing about his university courses. I hope you enjoy my first podcast!
